Friendship is an unspoken promise between two people that comes only from the heart; it is the feeling of knowing that someone will be there under any circumstance, despite any distance that may exist.Friendships give the opportunity for learning to trust someone and confide in that person with the most intimate feelings, dreams, and desires. Friendship is being foolish together. It is being mad at each other, pouting, screaming, yelling, and sometimes cursing and being able to get past the differences. Friends can laugh at each other and still call each other “friend” the next day. Friendship is being able to cry together; it is being able to provide a shoulder to lean on at any time. Friendship is knowing that if trouble arises, someone will only be a phone call away. A friend is always there, regardless of the hour of the day or how busy he might be.Friendship is truth. It is being able to tell someone if he is right or wrong while standing true to personal morals and beliefs. Friendship is being able to tell the other when he is being foolish and giving praise when it is deserved.Friendship is a sense of protection. Learning to understand the other person better than he understands himself and knowing when the other person needs a hug or a friendly smile before it shows on the outside means getting into the other person’s head as well as his heart. In today’s society it is not easy to find someone to share such social intimacy. Friendship is not written on paper or carved in stone. It is a promise that is renewed each time two friends meet and exchange a smile and every time the two enjoy the company that comes with the friendship. What i
