HOW TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL BALL PLAYER
There are many steps to be done in order to be a pro baseball player. You re saying to yourself, What are the odds of me becoming a pro. Well honestly, not very good. However, there are many steps you can take to increase your chances. If luck falls in your corner, you just might be one of the few who go onto that level and become a star, recognized or not.
To get anywhere in baseball, you must have the urge to want to succeed. Without this, there is no point to even try and make it somewhere in baseball. Baseball is a sport that takes a lot of confidence, patience, discipline, and motivation. Therefore, you need the urge inside of you to complete all of the tasks set forth for you. Do not worry though, if you feel that you do not have what it takes to become a ballplayer, you can always work at building up this so-called urge or take the easy, but boring route out of this life, and just put your glove and bat in the closet, for good. Or better yet, do not even try and be a ball player.
The initial process begins when you are a child. This is when you build up your fundamental skills and see even if you like playing ball. It always helps if you are a natural at this sport, but if not, you are going to have to practice extra hard to get to the level of being better than the players surrounding you. Even if you are a natural, you must put in extra time on the side and train to your max at getting better physically and mentally. A good tip is to listen to all of your baseball coaches throughout your time playing ball. Even if what they say sounds like it will not help you out at all, it probably will. They have been around a lot longer and have seen what works and what does not in relation to coaching players. You should also try and go to baseball camps. This overall can benefit you very much. Besides all the practicing you need to do as a kid, you should also go to many baseball games just to watch and pick up tips from the pros, and even little league games. The more you watch, the more you learn.
As you get older, you need to get more serious about playing ball. That means more training, weight lifting, watching pros, etc. The more effort you put in, the better off you will be. The competition gets harder the older you are. In order to be better than everyone else, you must give all the dedication and time you have towards baseball. At points in this period of your career, you are going to want to give up. All you need to do is just stick in there and give it your best. This is also the time when you want your name to get around. The more people that know you, the easier it is to get scouts to look at you. Try to put together videotape of you playing in practices and games. That is one of the best ways to show how athletic you are. When the tape is complete, send it around to scouts and coac
In the case that you cannot pull a scholarship under your belt, do not worry. You can always walk on to a college team. The bad part about that is you have to prove to the coach that you are worthy of playing for their team. This is very hard because you have to start all over on proving people that you are a ball player. The coach will usually critique you very much harder because they will be taking a risk on putting you on the team. But if you prove to them that you can play, things become a little easier. You still have to play your best, but you re on the team.
Once you have made the college team, for the next four years or however long you play, you must play to your full potential. This is the time when the pro scouts are looking at you and deciding if they want to refer you to teams or not. They will be watching you whether you know it or not. Every single great play you make and every error you make, they know and they do not forget it. Your college career is really what decides if you become a pro or not. The better you do, the easier it is to become a pro. If you can prove yourself, then you now have realized that you were meant to play ball. All the hard work you have done has paid off.
If you are not one of the lucky people to become the pro, then at least you know you gave it your best. There is really nothing you can do from there to become a pro. If you choose to still stay connected to the game, then you can always try and become a coach and teach other kids what you know. If you happen to be one of the lucky people who become a pro, then you have succeeded at your ultimate goal. All you do from there is play ball and make a lot of money. Who knows, you might become a big star and be the greatest ball player there ever has been? It all matters on how hard you try.
