Mystery and the study of the unknown has always intrigued people. The search for truth has led to many wonders. Some believe in the “supernatural” while others do not and believe it is all a hoax. Both types of people obviously have their own seasonings for believing or disbelieving in it. There are many, many famous mysteries that are still unsolved to this day. Some of these mysteries include the awesome Loch Ness Monster, the dreadful Abominable Snowman, and the frightening Bermuda Triangle.
The Loch Ness Monster is a legendary animal that lives in the depths of Loch Ness, a long lake in rural Scotland. Stories of the monster date back to the 6th century A.D. The region was in complete seclusion until a road was built alongside the lake in 1933. Then large numbers of people traveled through the region for the very first time. Over the years thousands of people reported seeing something “creature” like, in the lake. Most reports depict a long neck surging from the water with a small head of a unknown creature. Pictures have even been taken of this “creature”, but most scientists refuse to believe any creature of this kind lives in the Loch Ness or anywhere else. They claim that most reported incidents are simply products of overactive imaginations, and as for the pictures, scientists say they are not clear enough to distinguish the items, and some pictures are said to be “fake”. A large number of people (non-scientist) believe, that the Loch Ness monster is real and the loch ness lake is a home for large unknown aquatic animals. Yearly summer investigations have been conducted since 1963 in attempt to decipher the mystery. Investigators have obtained films and sonar readings that indicate that there just might be some unknown animal in the depths of the Loch Ness. Evidence however, is inconclusive, and the controversy continues.
Along with the Loch Ness monster, the abominable snowman shares the fame as one the great mysteries of the world. The abominable snowman is a legendary creature of the Himalaya mountains. It is reported to live in forested regions near the snow. This creature is also known by some as the fearful Yeti. The abominable snowman is said to walk upright and have the appearance of half-man, half-ape. Many of the descriptions given to this creature are based upon the findings of large, unidentified foot prints in the snow, found in the Himalayas. In order to ascertain the truth behind the abominable snowman legends
Like the Loch Ness monster and the abominable snowman, the Bermuda triangle is another one of those intriguing wonder to the world. The Bermuda Triangle is also known as the Devil’s triangle, is an area of the Atlantic Ocean (around 305,000 km2) where the disappearance of ships, airplanes, and boats has led many people to the belief that there are “supernatural” forces in this part of the sea. More than 200 planes, ships, and boats have disappeared in this triangle without a trace. In most of these cases, it is the fact that no distress signal was ever received from the disappearing ships. Violent storms frequently occur in the area, but scientists have not revealed anything extremely peculiar. Boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle are formed by drawing a line from Melbourne (Florida), to Bermuda, to Puerto Rico, and back to Florida. Many people are wondering if there truly is an unnatural force at in this triangle, some do believe that these disappearances are just a coincidence. Either way, numerous people are still unwilling to step over the boundary line, into the Devil’s Triangle.
As for the mystery of the Loch Ness monster, the fearful abominable snowman, and the enigma of the Bermuda triangle, we must realize that they are only a few of the many world famous “unsolved” mysteries. From them, we can see that it can be extremely difficult to find the truth. These days, very many people create hoaxes, jokes, tricks, Etc. Just to have people wonder, try to find the truth, and just for there own shits and giggles. Will we ever come up with the total truth, when it comes to these mysteries? Maybe. But for now. We will wonder. Wonder what lies beneath in the dark oceans, or in the snowy fields.
