Abortion is it right or is it cold blood murder? Abortion poses as a challenge in choices you make that can affect the rest of your life. There are many points of view toward abortion but the only two fine distinctions are “pro-choice” and “pro-life”. A person who supports pro-choice feels that the decision to have an abortion is the choice of the mother and the economy has no right to judge this decision as murder. A person who supports pro-life feels that from the moment of conception, the embryo or fetus is alive and an abortion would be murder.
The choice of having an abortion is murder. In the United States about 1.6 million pregnancies end in abortion. In my opinion this is no different than committing 1.6 million crimes and getting away with it. A fetus is alive and the mother has no right to judge it?s future by having an abortion. The mother?s right to choose to have an abortion is like giving your soul to the devil who can do what ever he pleases to do with it. An abortion of an unborn baby who has a heart beat when only three weeks old is not only cruel but also a crime. People, who commit murders, commit crimes that are no different than mother?s who choose to end their baby?s life and have an abortion. Why is it fair that murders have to serve long sentences in prison and mothers get no punishment at all?
Sure they?re certain circumstances that would be a benefit for the mother to have an abortion. One is a mother with money problems who can not support a family and don?t have time to manage a baby and have a job. Women with incomes under eleven thousand are over three times more likely to have an abortion than those with incomes above twenty-five thousand. These mothers take the easy way out by having an abortion and ending their child?s life. Another reason why most mothers have abortions are teen pregnancies where a young women made a bad decision and can?t handle the consequences. Unmarried women are four to five times more likely to abort than married and the abortion rate has doubled for 18 and 19 year olds. Recently the U.S. rate dro
The other side to argue why abortion should be legal is rape victims. Rape victims were forced into pregnancy against their will. How can these victims explain to their child why they have no father? How can the mother and child handle this situation? On one side you might say having an abortion would make you no better than the person who raped you. On the other side you might say having an abortion would be the best for the child?s future but having an abortion will give the child no future. In my personal opinion this is the choice of the mother and it should be legal for a rape victim to have the right to carry a child who isn?t theirs.
Although abortion is regarded as a woman’s right, it should be banned with exceptions because it’s considered murder, has many psychological side effects and there is an alternative. Abortion is a woman’s own right and choice. In 1973 the Roe v. Wade decision proved this by recognizing abortion as a fundamental constitution right and made it legal in all states. The law now permits abortion at the request of the women without any restrictions in the first trimester and some restrictions in the second trimester to protect the women’s health. The law also permits murder with no consequences and no penalties. Is it really fair that the government can allow murder because the baby is unborn? Due to the decision that is put upon a mother almost every third baby conceived in America is killed by abortion, over one and a half million babies a year. In many cases a mother might not be able to make a smart wise decision due to stress and pressure. Also teen mothers might no be mature enough to make this decision just like their decision to have intercourse in the first place. Abortion just allows mother to take the easy way out and end the baby?s life without proper though of the situation.
